Rain Rain Didn't Go Away But We Still Managed To Raise £1,131

Year 6 Cube Game Proved A Popular Draw

Despite the many pleas to the man above good weather wasn't forthcoming but the show must go on and on it did. Everything was held in the hall along with everybody making it nice and cosy! This year we decided to have more 'in-house' stalls manned by Year 4, 5 & 6. This year we also trailed offering a more varied range of food. This proved popular and we will be continuing and expanding this for our Christmas Fair 2012.

Queues Formed Tor The Ever Popular Bottle Tombola

The Crowning of the Rose Queen ceremony and the official opening had to be held indoors and once the formalities were out of the way all the stalls opened. Our big favourites the chocolate tombola and the bottle tombola soon had queues forming. The ping-pong game was brought back this year and was manned by Year 5 and along with The Cube game manned by Year 6 testing the skills of some parents and children alike.

We had some new stalls incuding a hair braider also there was Mrs. Newmans card and gift stall with Mrs. Havards and Mrs. Lowes cup cake stall and if one cake stall wasn't enough there was also Harry's Grandma's Cake Stall making a second appearance. We ran our sweet stall and a Teddy Tombola both adding to the variety.

Plenty On Offer
It was great to see so many children running around with their faces painted  courtesy of Mrs. Emberley-Peers, Mrs. Nicholson and Mrs. Algar. Our raffle rounded things off and we can be pleased that despite the awful weather we still managed to have some outside dancing and a Maypole Dancing performance alibiet cut short. We'd like to thank those that attended and despite the weather and the reduced turn out and having to cancel the outdoors events we managed with your help to raise £1,131 a little more than last year .We will carry on with the new format next year and hope to have fine weather and we feel we could raise a considerable amount.

First PTA Sweet Stall Nets £51

Our PTA Volunteers Being Kept Busy
Our new fund raising initiative was a great success but then again selling sweets to children was always going to be well received by the pupils especially on the last day of term. We were lucky the weather wasn't adverse meaning we could set up outside and catch everybody as they were leaving the school. Plenty of committee members were present and all were kept busy as demand was high and things got a bit frantic and manic at one stage. Plenty of our stock of crisps, drinks, sweets, etc were sold resulting in us raising £51 which is a terrific amount as most things were 10p, 15p or 20p each. With this fund raising idea it was also great to meet many people we wouldn't normally see and as ever with the St. Francis C of E pupils Mums and Dads the event was very well supported. We shall be repeating this event again soon.

Grand Spring Draw Raises £60 For Our Funds

The Grand Spring Draw was drawn today at the school assembly with two lucky parents walking away with the First Prize of £40 and the Second Prize of £20. The draw was well supported and has left us with £60 for our funds after paying out the cash prizes. Many thanks for all the parents who entred the draw and even if you didn't win you can be assured your children will still be winners as the money made will go towards the school.

Parents and Children Help Raise Nearly £90 at Family Bingo Night

On a chilly February night we managed to warm up the parents and children with lively games of bingo and the ever popular ping pong bingo for the children. People brought plenty of drinks and nibbles to see them through the games and the children ensured the sweet stall did a busy trade. Silence drew over the hall once it was 'eyes down' but that was eventually broken as the cry of 'house' was declared. The Family Bingo Nights are now becoming a popular PTA event and we hope to hold another one before the end of the school year. Hopefully we'll see you there.
